Skateboarding has been around for over 50 years and the image has changed significantly since its first appearance. Skateboarding was once deemed as a rebellious sport; however over the past 20 years we’ve seen all major metropolitan cities throughout the world accept and welcome skateboarders of all ages.
Multi-million dollar skate parks have been put in the heart of cities, skateboarding charities like Skate for Cancer has raised millions of dollars for a good cause, and skateboarding camps where you can learn from the pros are situated across North America.
For sport or leisure, skateboarding has grown tremendously and we would like to share the love with you. Join Meltdown’s Skate Team this Sunday from noon to 4pm as we make history in the new Waterloo Public Square.
All skateboarders, non-skateboarders, families, senior citizens and everyone in-between are encouraged and welcome to share in this experience.
Let’s move forward together.
