The 2010 Chicopee Chill Series sponsored by Meltdown Snowboard Shop is a weekly freestyle competition for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities.

Focused on having fun, competitors participate in rail, slopestyle and big air events in the newly designed Chicopee terrain park.

Each week over $250 in prizes are given out to the top riders. Points are awarded throughout the series to determine an overall Chill Series winner.

Thursday night marked the opening of the 6th Annual Chicopee Chill Series sponsored by Meltdown Snowboard Shop.

What’s a Chill Series you ask? Well, the Chill Series is a weekly rail, big air and slopestyle competition hosted by Chicopee Ski & Summer Resort that runs from mid January to early March. This relaxed competition features some of the best local snowboarders and skiers.

Thursday night’s rail comp featured two rail lines and a jam session on the C box. It was a cold windy night, but that didn’t stop any of the riders from slayin’ the rails in the newly designed Chicopee park.

He sustained severe traumatic brain injury and was flown to the University of Utah hospital for surgery. Kevin is now stable, however, he will have a long recovery.
